Matador Restaurant in Taylor

Had a great dinner with family and friends. Foods was very good, service was excellent!

So this was my first time eating here. We were greeted by Brooke our waitress. She was friendly and happy to explain the menu and lunch specials. The specials today were Nacho Supreme and kids eat free on Wednesdays. The prices are reasonable for a family and there is a lot to choose from on the menu. They offer beans and rice with your meal or you can just order without them. Had a great time here today. The service was excellent and during the entire time being there Brooke was all smiles. She stopped by to check on us to see if we needed anything else and how was our food. While there the manager came by to check on us too.

It's two blocks from my house. It's my go to for tacos. Even if it was further away it would be worth the drive. It's been in the same spot since 1954, so you know it's good

Always have something different each time. Food is excellent the service is awesome, you get alot for your money. They also have fried ice cream.🆗👍🆒👌😃😁🙋

The pastor tacos and rice are to die for!! They are very authentic and delicious. I highly recommend them! The service is also great. I’m definitely coming back soon.

This place is where I want to go when I die. The botanna is a straight up masterpiece! The tacos are mouth watering, spicy and delectable. If I could give this restaurant ten out five stars, I would.

Gr8 service. Good food, and went out of their way for our gluten allergy. But it's gotta a fast food feel and quite salty.

I don't live in Taylor anymore, but I still drive down just to visit Matador every once in a while. Best tacos around as far as I'm concerned!

My wet burrito was drowned in gravy.. Didn’t know where my burrito,beans or rice was! And my husbands botana was smothered in so much topping. He couldn’t find his chips and they were soggy! Never again will I eat here. I’ll stick with Manuel’s!!!!

Ordered the mini combination plate. Very dissatisfied with the taco no tomato and same with the tostada. Not sure where they learned to make these items but it is standard on tacos and tostadas to have tomatoes. They slapped some beans on a fried tortilla and put about a tablespoon of lettuce and call it a tostada. Shame on them. Never going back. I do not recommend this establishment. Paid $1.00 for a side of sour cream and $9.00 for the meal. Next time going to the other Mexican restaurant El Mariachi 35851 Ford Road West of Middlebelt. I was wondering why had not seen too many cars at this establishment now I know why.

Great atmosphere. Very small margarita 4 price. First thing I ordered a chicken enchilada dinner meal. They dont sell chicken enchilada so charged $1.00 extra. I received the small meal told waitresses she said I thought u said small dinner. It was good. Salsa was delicious.

Everything was great, but their salsa is tasty but all liquid. I prefer cilantro and chunks of onion and tomato in my salsa. Service was great also.

Got carry out from this place. The food was pretty decent.

The food was just alright, but service was good. I think Los Amigos food tastes better. Their refried beans was too dry for my liking. At Los Amigos the food tastes much more fresh in my opinion. Everyone has different tastes so try the place out for yourself.

Prices bit higher than other local authentic Mexican restaurant. Food was good and delivered in a timely fashion. Bit slow on drink refills considering it was not busy.

People!!! This is not real mexican food.. Is ofensive to me.. Honestly. Pfff fake fake!!

I have better at other Mexican restaurants. chimichanga are pretty good. The wait staff is nice

I got a Mexican sandwich. They only offer pork, which was okay but I wanted chicken. They also put potatoes in it. Yummy, but never had it that way. I ordered it take out so the container was full of juice/sauce. It had no lettuce or other toppings. Now it wasn’t nasty, but it wasn’t the usual. My boyfriend orders tacos, very good. His tostados looked and smelled nasty by the time he got to them, so he tossed them. Won’t run back here anytime soon.

Food was okay it wasn't bad but wasn't great. We both had chimichangas. However our waitress was friendly and entertaining. The place wasn't busy so while she was cleaning she was singing with the music overhead. I wouldn't go back for the food but because she was personable.

Always gone here. Love it. Great food. Tonight-our server was AMAZING!!! Deserved the decent tip I gave her-wish I could give her at least ten more dollars ontop..name was Sherry-shes great!!!!

Normally love this place but my entire last meal was messed up. From overdone taco shells to nasty stale enchiladas. Not sure what happened

One of the best homemade Mexican food restaurants I've ever been too! And service is fast and awesome!

I went yesterday and it is not the same. Food tastes nothing like it use too. I heard recently under new ownership.Very disappointed. Will not be returning.

Ever since the new management it seems to be going down hill slowly. The Quality and the Amount of a meal you get is getting less than it was a few months ago. Hope they improve. Was there on a Friday evening and it was just about empty a couple of years ago you'd be lucky to get seated right away. Just a Different Atmosphere now. Too Bad. I'm going to try it one more time in a Month or two.

This mexican restaurant has been here for more than 25yrs. I have had several of their dishes and all are great. My favorite is Chile Relenos(sp?). Authentic and delcious. Another favorite is the guacamole with fresh fried flour tortilla chips. Good guacamole but fresh made FLOUR chips! I dont know of another restaurant that does this.( You have to ask for them) They provide you with free salsa and corn chips, have great, friendly service and the food is fabulous! A really great family run restaurant!

Our regular restaurant was closed, we decided to try the Matador, so glad we did. More food than we could eat, friendly staff, fair prices. Definitely will be our new regular restaurant!

Will never eat there again, every sense the new owners took over the place went down hill.
